BSC earns net profit of 246.29cr Tk in FY 2022-23

Bangladesh Shipping Corporation has earned a net profit of Tk 246 crore 29 lakh in the financial year 2022-23.

The data was revealed in the318th meeting of the Board of Directors of the state run corporation which also recommended to pay 25% cash dividend to the shareholders.  

The 46th Annual General Meeting of BSC was also held on the same day at MohanaHallroom of Radisson BluChattogram Bay View on Thursday.

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury attended the meetings as the chief guest.

While addressing, Khalid Mahmud, also Chairman of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), saidthat BSC is providing safe and efficient shipping services on international waterways and transporting the bulk of Bangladesh's import and export products through its own fleet.  

Shipping Minister said in 2018-19, a total of 6 new ships were added to BSC's fleet now the process of adding 4 more ships is in progress.  BSC has currently taken decision to purchase ships at its own expenses.

He also said that after a long time, BSC has established Ansar camp and PaharaChowki at their own place in Kaibolyadham of Chattogram.  As a result, the security system of the 12.77 acre area can be strengthened.
