After being closed for more than six months due to coronavirus, the National Theater of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) is finally being opened for staging plays. To this end, the auditorium of the National Theater of Shilpakala Academy in Bangladesh will be allotted two days a week from October 23.
In the meantime, a policy has been formulated for the use of auditoriums and staging of plays in coordination with the government’s hygiene regulations.
It is learned that in the initial stage, the auditorium will be allotted on Fridays and Saturdays and public holidays. One-third of the seats can be used for seating. Which seats can be used will also be determined. And if the situation is normal and proper hygiene rules are followed, the auditorium will be allocated on all days of the week.
According to Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy sources, the auditorium of the academy will be completely sterilized and the visitors will be admitted after measuring their body temperature. In addition, wearing a mask will be made mandatory for audience.
Due to the Corona situation, the Bangladesh Group Theater Federation announced the closure of drama exhibitions across the country from March 18.
After being closed on August 26, the Mahila Samiti opened the doors of the auditorium by staging the play ‘Lal jomin’.
The inaugural function of the nationwide exhibition of the play ‘Lal Jomin’ was held at the Nilima Ibrahim Mancha of Bangladesh Mahila Samiti at 7pm on Friday. Mannan Hira has composed this play which is the first production of Shunyan Repertory Theater and the 248th staging was directed by Sudip Chakraborty and starred Momena Chowdhury.
