Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR), Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali, emphasized the importance of punctuality for new students during separate orientation sessions for first-year students of the Departments of Physics and Statistics.
Speaking at the university's Academic Building-4, Professor Ali encouraged students to build a habit of punctuality from the very beginning of their academic journey. "New students can achieve success by valuing time and attending classes regularly. This practice will help them develop a strong academic foundation," he said.
Welcoming the students, the Vice-chancellor urged them to actively contribute to creating a positive image of BRUR. He also called on them to work towards making BRUR the best university in North-Bengal through dedication to knowledge and research.
Highlighting the university's commitment to students, Professor Ali stated, "The current administration has implemented various initiatives to ensure a student-friendly campus environment."
During his speech, he paid tribute to Shaheed Abu Sayeed, a martyr of the student-people mass uprising in July-August. He encouraged students to honor Sayeed's sacrifice by excelling in their studies and contributing to the nation's progress.
The Vice-chancellor also sought divine blessings for the souls of all martyrs, recognizing their role in shaping the country’s history.
The orientation classes were attended by Dr Md Kamruzzaman, Professor of the Department of Physics, Dr Md Siddiqur Rahman, Head of the Department of Statistics, along with other faculty members and students from both departments.
The sessions marked the beginning of the academic year 2023-2024, providing students with guidance and motivation for their educational journey at BRUR.
