Employees of 80 rural electricity societies are on strike, and they refuse to meet with the Bangladesh Rural Electricity Board (BREB) authority until their two demands are met.
On behalf of 80 Rural Electricity Societies, Engineer Rajan Kumar Das, AGM (EMC), signed a notification on Thursday.
They demand uniform employment rules and regularisation of all contractual and irregular jobs, citing grievances of corruption and exploitation affecting 120 million people.
The notification, addressing actions taken since a May 10 meeting, declares non-participation in a July 5 discussion organised by BREB. Employees insist on reinstating dismissed personnel and holding a meeting within 15 days to address their demands.
The circular emphasises readiness to resolve issues with the electricity department, urging swift action on their proposals.
