Popular actress of small screen Mehazabien Chowdhury has received many awards for her acting skills. This time the actress got honour as a playwright. Bangladesh Police Women's Network (BPWN) has honoured Mehazabien Chowdhury for Eid drama titled 'Alo'.
On Thursday noon director Mahmudur Rahman Himi and Mehazabien were honoured for their excellent performance in the play 'Alo'.
Mehazabien was present there and received the honourary memento. DIG Amena Begum of DMP Special Branch handed over the medal to the actress
The story of the play 'Alo' based on women police members written by the actress herself. She also played the lead role of a female traffic policeman. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) authorities praised the play along with the audience.
Mehazabien Chowdhury is overwhelmed by the recognition of her work. Regarding the context the actress said, "It is a great blessing for us to get support, encouragement and love from those for whom we work." I wrote the play 'Alo' out of respect and reverence for those who are involved in the police administration, specially the women policemen engaged in this profession. I never thought that this play would touch the minds of the general audience as well as the minds of those for whom it was written. I am grateful to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for this honour.’
Along with Mehazabien, actor Manoj Pramanik, Ahsanul Haque Minu, Iqbal Hossain, Basar Bappi, Mahmuda Maha and others have also acted in this play. The drama was released on YouTube on July 24. So far, the view of the play has stood at more than 32 lakh 66 thousand.
