The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 players' draft is scheduled to take place at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka on Monday. This draft will include both local and international players, categorised according to their respective grades.

The draft will be broadcast live on T Sports and streamed on the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) social media channels, as well as the BPL's official Facebook page. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the event:

Franchises

Fortune Barishal, by Fortune Shoes Limited, Rangpur Riders, by Toggy Sports Limited, Khulna Tigers, by Mind Tree, Sylhet Strikers, by Future Sports Bangladesh Limited, Dhaka Capitals, by Champions Sports Limited – supported by Walton Group / Harlan & Remarks brand, Durbar Rajshahi, by Valentine Group, Chittagong Kings, by SQ Sports Enterprise Limited

Total Squad

Each franchise must have a minimum squad size of 12 players (10 local and 2 overseas), with no upper limit on the number of overseas players. However, the maximum number of local players is capped at 14.

Fixed Remuneration Cap (Local)

Each franchise has a fixed remuneration cap of Tk four crore for recruiting local players. Teams must ensure their expenditure on local player recruitment stays within this cap. Expenses for retained and directly signed players are excluded from this cap.

Local Player Retention and Direct Signing for Existing Teams

Franchise teams can retain up to two local players from their previous squad. This retention policy applies only to the following four existing franchises: Fortune Barishal, Sylhet Strikers, Khulna Tigers, and Rangpur Riders. These teams can also recruit one local player from any category.

Local Player Direct Signing for New Teams

The newly awarded franchises – Dhaka Capitals, Durbar Rajshahi, and Chittagong Kings – can directly sign two local players from any category from the draft list.

Auction for Unsold Category 'A' Players

If a Category 'A' player remains unsold after the draft, the draft commissioner will invite interested franchises to an auction. The base price for these players will be set at 50% of their total remuneration. If the auction for a particular 'A' category player reaches Tk 60 lakh – the top price cap for the tournament – and multiple franchises are still interested, a lottery system will determine the final winner. Each subsequent bid increment must be a minimum of Tk five lakh.

Fixed Remuneration Cap (Overseas)

Each franchise has a fixed remuneration cap of USD 250,000 for recruiting overseas players. A minimum of three overseas players must be recruited from the draft.

Total Local and Overseas Players

A total of 188 local cricketers will be available for selection in the BPL players' draft 2025. The overseas player list is expected to be finalised by 12th October.

Local Price Cap

Overseas Price Cap

The highest overseas price cap is USD 70,000, with five different categories, and the lowest being USD 15,000.
