On the occasion of the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a book distribution program has been completed in Cox's Bazar on the initiative of poet Manik Bairagi.
The book distribution ceremony was held at the Cox's Bazar International University auditorium on Sunday afternoon, March 20.
Books were distributed to private libraries in Cox's Bazar district during the book distribution function. Representatives of Chakaria Paharchanda Library, Gyananbeshan Library of Ramu Upazila, Sahitya Ghar Public Library, Andharmanik Library, Gyan Library, Bir Pratik Alhaj SM Nurul Haque Public Library Banglabazar and Dakshin Mithachari Adarsh Library were present on the occasion.

Welcoming the gathering, poet Manik Bairagi said that at a time when technology is in turmoil in the world and children and teenagers are in the grip of technology, library workers are launching book movement at rural level.

Meanwhile, Prof. AQM Gias Uddin and Special Guest Professor Sukumar Dutta were present as the chief guests at the book distribution function. Books worth Rs. 60,000 were distributed to six libraries in total.
Prakriti Prakashani, Poet-Editor Saikat Habib, Professor AKM Gias Uddin, Poet Chowdhury Fahad, Shamim Akhtar, Sayyid Monju, and Marjia Begum, Shipta Barua assisted in distributing the books.
After the distribution of books, a convening committee called Private Public Library Council was formed with all the libraries of Cox's Bazar district.
A seven-member committee was formed with Shoaibul Islam as convener and Shipta Barua as member secretary.
