The border guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Moheshpur frontier had recovered the body of a Bangladeshi national on Monday morning. The body was recovered from the bank of Ichhamati River in the border area at Chapatala of Moheshpur. The deceased was identified as Rakibul Islam, 35, son of late Manirul Islam of village Jadabpur in same upazila. He was living permanently in the house of his maternal uncle at Chapatala.
Locals said Rakibul, a carpenter in profession left his house on Saturday morning to travel in neighboring India with some of his friends. Later the locals found him dead at the bank of the river on Monday. The BGB personnel recovered the body. There was a number of injury spots over his parts. He might be beaten to death anyway.
BGB 58 battalion director Lieutenant Colonel Masud Parvez when contacted said they had recovered body of a youngman on Monday.
But they were not sure why, how and when he was killed. The BGB sent the body to Moheshpur police station for the post mortem examination BGB 58 battalion director said.
