Police recovered a blood-stained body on Ice-cream Factory
Lane at North Goran in Khilgaon of the capital on Thursday morning.
The victim was identified as Habibur Rahman, 28, resident of Meradia Commissioner Road at Kosaibari of Demra. He was a drug addict.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station Salauddin Mia said locals noticed that blood was coming out from a mattress wrapped with a rope in the area in the morning and informed the law enforcers about the matter.
He said police reached the spot and untied the knots of the mattress and found a youth tied with ropes inside a sack.
He said there were injury marks of sharp weapon on victim’s body.
Police took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors on duty declared him dead around 11am.
Quoting family members, the police official said Habibur left his residence at around 10pm on Wednesday and did not return.
They suspected that miscreants might have killed Habibur and left his body on the lane, he said adding that law enforcers have collected crime evidence from the spot.
