Bodies of two boys were recovered from a pond at Bermastand area of Shiddhirganj police station in Narayanganj on Monday, four days after they went missing.
The deceased were identified as Shamim, 8, son of Robiul Alam and Monir 7, son of Abdul Jabbar, both are residents at Gangachara area of Rongpur district and they used to live at Bermashil area of shiddhirganj police station. Both the fathers of ill-fated boys are auto rickshaw drivers by profession.
Police quoting family members statements said that both the boys went into missing on Friday last. After a day both fathers registered two separate general diaries with police station.
Officer-in-Charge of Shiddhirganj police station Kamrul Faruk said that the bodies had not any mark of injuries and thus apparently assumed they might have drowned during bathing.
Bodies were sent to Narayanganj general hospital for post mortem.
