Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed on Saturday said BNP is passing through a difficult time for their political mistakes, reports BSS.
“BNP itself is responsible for its critical situation… We said BNP made mistakes by not participating in the 2014 national election,” he said while distributing clothes among the poor and distressed people on the ground of Obaidul Haque High School in Bhola.
Tofail said BNP suffered a huge blow in the general election held in 2018 as the party was found involvement in nomination trading.
He said, “Bangladesh is marching forward for eliminating poverty as the present government has implemented massive development programmes.”
Tofail said Bangladesh is now a role model of development for least developing country because of the farsighted and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Living standard of the people in rural areas has improved significantly as the poor and distressed people have been brought under safety-net programmes, he added.
General Secretary of Bhola district unit of AL and District Parishad Chairman Abdul Momin Tulu and other leaders of the party, among others, were present at the function.
