At least 5 people were injured as the activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and police locked into a clash in Ukil Para area of Bhola on Friday.
BNP's Bhola unit brought out a procession around 3pm on Friday. When the procession reached Ukil Para Masjid area, police charged with batons to disperse them, triggering the clash, said Raisul Alam, member secretary of Bhola district unit BNP.At least 5 BNP activists were injured as police baton-charged, said the BNP leader.
However, Monir Hossain, OC of Bhola police station, said that BNP men threw brick bats after seeing the police and there were no injuries or arrests.
The BNP activists also threw bricks and broke the front glass of a clinic ‘Lab Aid’.
