The BNP has always come to power through smuggling and conspiracy, said Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque. He said the Awami League, like the BNP, never came to power by conspiracy. The Awami League has always followed a simple path, democratically elected by the people, came to power, formed the government, ran the country and is still doing so.
The Minister said this while addressing a special extended meeting of the Municipal Awami League at Dhanbari Upazila in Tangail district on Saturday.
Mentioning that the BNP had humiliated and disgraced the freedom fighters of the country by forming a party with Razakars, the Minister said the BNP was born in the cantonment, in the face of gun-rifle barrels. The BNP was founded out of fear of arms and power. The BNP was established by confusing the people, distorting the consciousness and history of the liberation war and lying. The freedom fighters of the country were despised and made small by forming BNP with Razakars.
And the BNP has ruled the country for a long time by bringing these Razakars and war criminals to power.
Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque added that grassroots activists work selflessly for the party. They do not get any other benefits except social respect. Therefore, the election will be held according to the decision of the grassroots, the candidate will be nominated.
Dhanbari Municipal Awami League President Md Sakhawat Hossain presided over the function while Upazila Chairman Harun-ur-Rashid Hira and Upazila Awami League General Secretary Mir Farooq Ahmad spoke on the occasion. Municipal and upazila Awami League leaders and activists of different levels were present at the time.
