In the name of peaceful sit-in programme today (Saturday), the BNP now has decided to put blockades at all the seven entrances to the capital Dhaka, which is considered to be provocative for violence.
With this programme announced on Friday, BNP basically is making efforts to disconnect the capital with the rest of the country and causing sufferings to public life.
BNP announced its agitation programmes Friday afternoon after failing to trigger any political violence and create anarchy in the name of its previously announced 'grand rally' held at Nayapaltan in the capital.
Some of BNP's like-minded other minor political parties also announced to hold the same programme at the same places at the same time.
Sources said as the second attempt of creating anarchy in the name of political programmes, BNP is and it allies are making efforts to block all the city entrances so that neither any vehicle could leave the capital city nor enter into it, the sources said.
Accordingly, BNP, through its political programme, would neither allow anyone to enter into Dhaka nor let anyone in into the capital city.
As per the announcement of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the sit-in programme will continue from 11:00am to 4:00pm at all the seven entrances.

The same programme has also been announced by Ganatantra Mancha, BNP's partner in the simultaneous movement, as well as the 12-party alliance comprising like-minded opposition parties.
BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy urged party leaders and activists, who attended the Friday’s rally in Dhaka, not to leave the city.
BNP, in its one-point demand, wants the resignation of the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for holding the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary election under a caretaker government.
It should be mentioned that the caretaker government system is unconstitutional and not a democratic system. The Supreme Court earlier had rejected it.
Political analysts say that the BNP actually does not want the next national election held as per the Constitution and through the existing democratic process. Rather, the BNP and its allied vested quarters want only the ouster of the present government so that any unconstitutional force could take over power.
According to sources, the BNP, along with its allied forces, including fundamentalists, anti-liberation forces and conspirators at home and abroad, had been in the attempts of turning the situation unstable through anarchy in the name of political programmes.
But they could not succeed due to strict measures taken by the law-enforcement agencies and their keen vigilance, said the sources.
Besides, three affiliated organisations of ruling Awami League—Juba League, Swechchhasebak League and Chhatra League—also remained vigilant near the areas through a ‘Peace Rally’ programme at the South Gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
They held a joint rally in view of checking violence by the BNP and its allied forces.
Meanwhile, in the face of BNP’s provocative blockade programme today, personnel from all the law-enforcement agencies have been put on high alert so that none could create anarchy in the name of ‘sit-in-programme’ at all the seven entrances to the capital city.
Huge number of additional forces from the police, RAB and other security forces have been deployed at all the entry points, where check posts have also been installed.
Moreover, ruling Awami League and all of its associate and affiliated organisations have also remained vigilant to check any violence by the BNP or any other forces.
Jubo League also announced to hold ‘Peace Rallies’ at all the seven entry points in view of resisting violent attempts.
