With the clock striking 12 midnight on Friday another year slipped into eternity heralding a new year of hope. As the month of January comes from the Roman god Janus, who has his eyes both behind and forward, we look to the past year to garner lessons for coping with the New Year’s problems. As the hope springs eternal, we think the New Year has come with the promise of peace, harmony and greater achievements in our individual, social and national life.
The New Year’s eve, as is usual, comes as an occasion for glittering celebration all over the globe, bidding farewell to the past year. But the COVID-19 has forced the nations to avoid any kind of extravaganza .This year will witness a limited celebration as many countries have already put several restrictions to combat the spread of Omicron variant of Covid-19.
As for us, we welcome the New Year 2022 of English calendar with the vibrant hope of returning to a neo-normal life as our government has taken all possible measures to fight the deadly Corona virus out to the finish.
Despite the Corona virus, as Bangladeshis, we feel proud that the nation has been led efficiently by Prime MInister Sheikh Hasina,for which the world now recognises Bangladesh as the role model of development in the developing countries.
