Dwayne Johnson claims that the training he did to prepare for Black Adam was the hardest he's ever trained in his life. Johnson is one of the most bankable and well-known actors working today, having appeared in hits like ‘Jungle Cruise’, ‘Red Notice’, ‘San Andreas’, and a number of installments of the Fast & Furious franchise. Considering his impressive physique, WWE history, and larger-than-life persona, it seemed inevitable that Johnson would eventually appear in a superhero movie.
Johnson will make his superhero debut with the DCEU film ‘Black Adam’, based on the comic book character of the same name. Details regarding the plot of the film are currently being kept under wraps but Johnson has continued to tease the character's immense power and brutality in various posts on social media. Johnson has even gone as far as to guarantee an eventual showdown between Black Adam and Superman at some point in the future. In addition to Johnson, Black Adam will feature performances from Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, and Quintessa Swindell.
In a new interview with Men's Journal, Johnson reveals the lengths he went to in order to achieve his physique for the movie, striving to surpass the mock-ups done by illustrators and surprise fans. Preparing for ‘Black Adam’, according to Johnson, involved committing to the toughest training regimen of his life.
While fans have already gotten glimpses of Johnson's physique for the role in the form of behind-the-scenes photos and official production stills, Johnson has yet to be fully unveiled as the character in a trailer. The first live-action trailer for ‘Black Adam’, which was released several months ago, gives fans a first look at the character in action but the cloak and the dark environment obscure Johnson's physique.
