The home of the country's sports arena is Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Pratishthan (BKSP). BKSP's journey began in 1985 with men's football. However, women's football was added to BKSP only six years ago. During this time, women footballers are the best in South Asia.
Five of the 23 footballers who won the Kathmandu SAFF are former and current students of BKSP.
A reception was organized for the SAFF-winning BKSP players at the campus on Thursday afternoon. Bangladesh Football Federation President (BFF) Tabith Awal was the chief guest at the reception. He handed over a check of Tk 25,000 as an honorary award to Swapna Rani, Afida Khandaker Pranti, Rituparna Chakma, Shaheda Akhter Ripa and Sagarika. At that time, BKSP Director General Brigadier General Munirul Islam was with him.
BKSP Red Team, Champion of the BKSP Cup Women's Football Tournament. In the final held at BKSP Red team defeated BKSP Green team 3-0.
The Red team dominated the first half of the game and took a 3-goal lead. Lima of BKSP Green team was adjudged the best player of the tournament, while Sagarika of BKSP Red team won the top scorer award with 10 goals in the tournament.
