Country’s Knitwear Industry Owners express hope that now it will be possible to gain duty-free market access in the USA and expand the knitwear market worldwide as the Chief Adviser of the newly formed Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus has a global reputation familiarity.
Congratulating Dr. Muhammad Yunus after taking oath as the chief adviser of the interim government, BKMEA Executive President Mohammad Hatem in a statement said
Expressing farm confidence and faith on the capacity on Prof. Dr. Yunus, BKMEA President said it will be possible to ensure duty free access of Bangladeshi goods to US market by using his international contacts and strategic management.
He said that the turbulent situation, the country has come across in the last one month, has badly affected the knit industry which the main export sector of the country.
Hatem believed that Dr Muhammad Yunus will apply his intelligence and thinking even where reforms are needed in the development of the apparel sector.
In the statement, BKMEA said, ‘There is no doubt that the horrific situation our beloved Bangladesh has gone through for a month is indescribable. We have seen all the inhuman oppression and loss of lives of the previous government on the young students and common people associated with the anti-discrimination movement.’
BKMEA believes that this rise of youth is the renaissance, the construction of new Bangladesh through economic dynamism and the creation of a modern and developed Bangladesh through the reform of the state structure is possible.
The executive president of BKMEA also said, ‘We believe that Bangladesh will overcome this transitional period as soon as possible and emerge as an economic role model in the world with leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yunus.’
