Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) Magura unit held a day-long training programme on profitable Aman and mustard farming for the farmers in Jhenaidah on Tuesday.
The training programme was held at the conference room of Jhenaidah Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Deputy Director’s office in Jhenaidah Khamarbari area. Jhenaidah DAE Deputy Director Sasty Chandra Roy presided over the training programme. Director General of the BINA Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad virtually attended the programme as the chief guest. A total 50 participants attended the training. Most of them were women. DAE District Training Officer Mosharraf Hossain, Additional Deputy Director Anisuzzaman Khan and BINA Magura Centre in-charge Asaduzzamn spoke as special guests in the programme.
The speakers said they farmers should cultivate some specific varieties of mustard and Aman rice which will ensure better yield in short duration, least production cost and which are environment-friendly as well. It will help strengthen the socio-economic codition of the farmers. They suggested the farmers to contact the DAE officials working at field level for any kind of need. Caring and management of Aman rice plots, seed production and preservation and mustard farming technologies were discussed in wide scale for the farmers.
