Biman Hajj flight from June 5

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate Hajj flights with its own fleet from June 5. A total of 130 flights will be operated for Hajj this year. The first hajj flight will leave the country on June 5. All flights will be dedicated flights. 

The authorities of Biman unveiled the matter at a view exchange meeting at Bangladesh Airlines Training Center at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday. Biman will carry 29,000 pilgrims.

At the meeting, Biman’s Managing Director Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal said that in other years they used to have two to three months to transport Hajj passengers. This time they get less than a month. Hajj flights will be operated from the scheduled time. 

Asked if the aircraft would be leased during the Hajj, he said, “No aircraft is being leased this time.”  

The meeting was attended by Biman Bangladesh Airlines Director (Flight Operations) Captain Siddiqur Rahman, Director of Customer Service Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Director of Sales and Marketing Mohammad Zahid Hossain, Director (Engineering) Air Commodore Mridha Md. Ekramuzzaman, Director (Planning) Air Commodore (Retd.) Md. Mahbub Jahan Khan, Chief Financial Officer Md. Nowsad Hossain, Chief of Flight Safety Captain Enamul Haque Talukder, BFCC General Manager Shamsul Karim, General Manager (Public Relations) Tahera Khandaker and others.
