Bijoynagar police have arrested two persons with a pickup carrying 92 kg of cannabis while smuggling drugs in a fancy manner in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
On Friday, in-charge of Champaknagar police outpost SI Nurul Islam, on the basis of a tip-off, chases a pickup truck (Dhaka Metro No. 15-0934) from Kalachhara area in front of Champaknagar police outpost.
He recovered 92 kg of 48
packets hidden under the body in a special way.
At that time, the driver Md. Jobaid, son of Abdur Noor of Mohammadpur village under Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station, and helper Rubel, son of late Abdur Rahim of the same area arrested due to the illegal act.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge of Bijoynagar Police Station Mirza Mohammad Hasan told reporters that out of 639 cases registered with Bijoynagar police station in the last one month, 28 cases have been registered against drugs.
