Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has started to provide cost-free training and to create 375 youth entrepreneurs in Khulna district to enhance their skill in management and running business and commerce.
The BIDA at the Prime Minister’s Office is providing training to entrepreneurs under its “Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Project
(ESDP)’ and also part of the ‘Flourishing Investment’ programme, one of the 10 special initiatives taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
As part of the programme, BIDA organized a week-long divisional level campaign for free registration of interested youth entrepreneurs on August 27 at deputy commissioner’s (DC) office in the city, said an officials, reports BSS.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia launched the campaign by releasing balloons and festoons as the chief guest. A total of 16,829 interested entrepreneurs have registered through online (www.esdp.gov.bd) at 12 city booths and local BIDA office during the campaign, said an official.
“The BIDA at the Prime Minister’s Office has already started providing the fifteen days training of the first batch to 25 registered youth entrepreneurs here from September 1,” said Mizanur Rahman, trainer of ESDP programme on Tuesday.
“Twenty-five registered youth entrepreneurs will be provided the month- long training in every batch to produce 24,000 skilled entrepreneurs in 15 batches in next 15 months across the country, he said. On successful completion of training, entrepreneurs would earn knowledge on process of launching entrepreneurship and registration, taxes and VAT, export-import, management skill, opening of bank accounts and LC, loan, insurance, Import Registration Certificate(IRC), Export Registration Certificate (ERC), investment planning and business development. “The BIDA will provide entrepreneurs with facilities and one stop services on environmental certificates, quality control of products, accuracy in weight and measurements, suppliers and linkage and other legal aspects,” he said.
Besides, BIDA will provide counseling to entrepreneurs and assistance for supplying primary and middle layer raw materials to multinational and international manufacturing industries having high level of moderntechnologies, Mizanur said.
“By getting training, entrepreneurs will become proficient in managing and running business activities contributing to creating self-employment,
creation of new business ventures and reduction of unemployment,” he added.
