BIBM holds discussion on stimuli assessment

An online roundtable discussion was held on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM). 

Ahmed Jamal, chairman of BIBM Executive Committee and deputy governor of  Bangladesh Bank, was present at discussion as the chief guest, said a press  release here. 

Dr Ashraf Al Mamun, associate professor and director (Research Development  and Consultancy of BIBM), delivered welcome address while Dr Md  Akhtaruzzaman, director general of BIBM, chaired the programme.

A paper "Assessment of Stimulus Packages on COVID-19" was presented in the  seminar by Md Mohiuddin Siddique, professor (Selection Grade) of BIBM.  Other members of the research team are Md. Shahid Ullah, Ph.D., associate  professor of BIBM, Md. Nurul Alam, deputy general manager (Banking Regulation  and Policy Department) of Bangladesh Bank.

Dr. Muzaffer Ahmad Chair Professor of BIBM and Former Prof of Dhaka  University (DU) Dr Barkat-e-Khuda, Managing Director and CEO of South Bangla  Agriculture and Commerce Bank Limited Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, President and  Managing Director of Bank Asia Limited Md Arfan Ali and Executive Director of  Bangladesh Bank Mohammad Ahmed Ali made comments as designated discussants. 

Director General of BIBM said output of the study along with opinions and  observations made today will help stakeholder to take future actions.

A good number of participants including senior bank executives,  academicians, media representatives, faculty members of BIBM took part in the  online roundtable discussion.
