Biannual conference of IBBL’s RDS project held in Cox’s Bazar

The biannual conference of heads and assistant heads of Cox's Bazar and Ramu branches of Rural Development Scheme (RDS) of Islamic Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) was held at a community centre in Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

Prof Dr Md Nazmul Hasan, chairman of the bank, addressed the function as the chief guest with Md Mahbubul Alam, managing director of the bank, in the chair. Director Dr Tanvir Ahmed, Director Prof Saleh Jahur, Additional Managing Director Mohammad Munirul Maola, head of south zone of the bank GM Gias Uddin Kader, head of RDS M Jubayer Ajam Helali and manager of Cox's Bazar branch Jamal Uddin spoke at the event, among others. 

Nazmul Hasan said that the Islami Bank’s RDS project is working for the welfare of underprivileged people of the society through massive financial inclusion. Under the scheme, the bank provides loan without mortgage. Already, Islami Bank has integrated around 12 lakh families of 22 thousand villages into the mainstream of the country's economy.

At the programme, scholarships were provided to the talented students of different colleges and schools.
