The ready-made garment industry is going through a transition period, this industry will not be able to overcome the loss in any way if major disruption occurs in import and export activities due to the political instability of the country, said BGMEA leaders while inspecting the Chattogram customs, bond and port on Wednesday.
They said the country’s economy will witness sharp fall if disruptions created which is not expected at all, so all should work together in the ongoing situation of the country to keep the import and export of RMG industry running.
BGMEA Vice President Rakibul Alam Chowdhury led the team while visiting Chittagong Customs, Bonds and Chittagong Port.
He sought all-out support in this regard from all the organizations involved in the garment industry.
Officials of Port, Customs, Bonds also sought cooperation from BGMEA delegation in import-export.
BGMEA Director M. Ehsanul Haque, Mohammad Musa, Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Mostafa Sarwar Riyad, Rakib Al Nasser, Gazi Md Shahidullah, BGMEA former director Saif Ullah Mansoor, Chittagong Customs Agents Association General Secretary Kazi Mahmud Imam Bilu and other leaders were present on the occasion.
