BGB members recovered 80 gold bars by digging soil from a Green chillies garden from Shahjadpur border in Chougacha upazila of Jashore.
On Saturday (November 19) around 11 pm , two cloth bags were found by digging the Green chillies Garden near the zero line of the Shahjadpur border of the upazila.
Later the cloth bag was opened and 80 gold bars weighing 9 kg 310 gm were seized. BGB said that the value of seized gold is Tk 8 crore 35 lakh.
This information has been confirmed through a press release on Saturday night on behalf of Jashore 49 BGB Battalion.
Commanding officer of Jashore 49 BGB Battalion Lt. Col. Shahed Minhaj Siddiqui said,
On Saturday night, BGB a team of BGB members patrolling in the area, two men standing suspiciously near the Chillies garden.
Then the BGB members started following them. When the smugglers realized this, they dug up the gold bars and hide there.
Later BGB members searched the Green chillies garden and recovered 80 gold bars from the ground.
The weight of recovered gold is TK. 9 kg 310 grams.
Its market value is 8 crore 35 lakh taka. A case has been filed in Chougacha Police Station regarding the recovery of gold CO added.
