BGB seizes 300gm snake venom in Chuadanga

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 300 grammes of snake venom after conducting a drive on Mahananda Express Train in Darshana rail station on Thursday.

BGB Chuadanga-6 Battalion confirmed the matter through a press release on Thursday noon.

The press release said BGB received a tip-off that snake venom will be smuggled via the Mahasondha Express train through the Darshana railway station area. Acting on the tip-off, Habildar Mohammad Muradul Islam and his team, with the direction and planning off BGB Chuadanga-6 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Syed Mohammad Jahidur Rahman, conducted a raid on the Mahasondha Express train arriving from Rajshahi at 2:00pm on Thursday. During the operation, they discovered an abandoned plastic bag on the luggage carrier of the train's fourth compartment. Upon searching the bag, they recovered three glass bottles containing approximately 300 grams of poisonous snake venom. 

Legal proceedings are underway regarding this matter.
