The BGB raided Ukhia and Teknaf in Cox's Bazar and arrested two drug traffickers along with 60 grams of crystal meth ice and 110,000 pieces ofYaba.
BGB Teknaf 2nd Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar said in a press release that two BGB teams raided the Damdamiya area of Teknaf on Monday morning after receiving a
tip-off that a group of drug traffickers were smuggling drugs through
Omar Khal.
Sensing the presence of BGB at that time, the drug traffickers jumped into the Naf river and fled while the BGB detained a Rohingya named Saker Ali along with the boat.
One kg sixty grams of crystal meth ice and 10,000 pieces of yaba were recovered from him. Detained Saker Ali was a resident of Mochni Rohingya Camp No. 25, Teknaf
On the other hand, BGB members raided Ukhia and arrested a drug dealer named Nasir Uddin along with over one lakh pieces of Yaba.
The arrested drug dealer is Nasir Uddin, son of Cheher Ali of Karaibnia area of Ratnapalang union of Ukhia upazila.
Cox's Bazar BGB 34 Battalion Commander Lt Col Mehedi Hossain Kabir said the BGB members carried out the operation after receiving a tip-off that a group of drug traffickers were smuggling drugs from Myanmar through Naikangchhari border and stockpiling them in Karibnia area of Ukhia upazila.
BGB members raided a farm house in Karibnia on Sunday night and arrested Nasir Uddin along with one lakh pieces of yaba.
BGB captain Zaman has been handed over to Ukhia and Teknaf police stations along with the arrested accused and recovered drugs and regular cases have been filed.
