BGB nabs 12 returning illegally from India thru Moheshpur border

The border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Moheshpur frontier of Jhenaidah have detained ten Bangladeshi nationals including two women and three male brokers in bordering Moheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah in four separate drives on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. The arrested were returning from India illegally. 

They border guards also arrested four other Bangladeshi nationals including three women while they were attempting to trespass in neighboring India, said the BGB  sources of 58 battalion Director office. 

BGB 58 battalion assistant director Nazrul Islam Khan quoting the battalion director Qamrul Ahsan said the BGB personnel have arrested three Bangladeshi men from the metal road at Ekashipara in Moheshpur on Friday morning. The arrested were identified as Probhash Sarker, 28, of Dushohati village of Kalia in naraial, Acchyut Bairagi, 34, of Rupnagar village in Dumuria of Khulna and Ashik Bala, 27, of Saluka village of Tungipara of Gopalganj.

BGB battalion Director Qamrul Ahsan expressed his hope the illegal movement will be controlled within a short time  

They have arrested Ami Khatun, 22, of Harihaora village of Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah and two brokers Shukur Ali, 28, of Hathtapara in same upazila and his associate Oliar Rahman, 50, of Jibannagar in Chuadnaga on Thursday night. Both Shukur Ali Oliar Rahman were helping the woman to return back from India illegally.

BGB office sources said they have arrested Jayanti Rani, 45, of Purapara village in Chowgachha upazila under Jashore from Parghata Bridge area in Moheshpur on Wednesday midnight. They also arrested the broker Dinu Satra of same village while he was helping the woman in entering in to Bangladesh territory illegally.

The border guards on same night in separate drive arrested Habibur Rahman Sheikh, 35, of Paschim Rajoir in Madaripur, Morshed Alam, 46, of Boyra village in Lohagora upazila of Narail, Morshed Alam’s wife Nasima Begum, 35, Shubho KUndu, 22, of Kathalbaria village of Salikha in Magura and Manaj Biswas, 27, of Karpara village of Gopalganj Sadar upazila. They were arrested from Matila village of Moheshpur.

According to the BGB assistant director they had nabbed a man and four women from Sundarpur village of Moheshpur on Thursday night while they were attempting trespass in to Indian territory. The arrested were Gopoti Sarker, 27, of Dighalkandi village of Magura Sadar, Kakali Shikder, 19, of village Kolagachhi of Mohammadpur upazila, Sumati Mandal, 19, of Baaakanbari village of Salikha in Magura and Baishakhi Mandal, 18, of Hijaldanga village of Narail Sadar. 

BGB battalion Director Qamrul Ahsan when contacted over the arrest of Bangladeshi nationals in the bordering area said they have been strictly monitoring the entry and trespass in to the neighboring country when the global pandemic corona virus was aggressively affecting Bangladesh. 

These people have been moving without any valid documents during movement and ignoring the government order. E ach and every arrested was sent to local police station after filing specific case under passport act. The BGB steps will help check the entry and trespass within a short time, Qamrul Ahsan expressed his hope.
