The Rajshahi Battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) received four All-Terrain Vehicles (AVTs).

These vehicles will be used for safeguarding the frontier as well as prevention of smuggling at the border.

Those four ATV's were allocated to Rajshahi BGB Battalion from the BGB headquarters as a part of the programme of Director General of BGB.

BGB Rajshahi Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ziauddin Mahmud informed ATV is an effective vehicle to move at the remote and inaccessible char areas of Rajshahi frontier where patrolling through walking or riding on any other sort of vehicle is not possible.

As a result, two each ATV's have been allocated for Khanpur BOP and A Padmar Char BOP under Rajshahi BGB Battalion.

Proper use and regular patrolling through ATVs will ensure prevention of smuggling of drugs and other materials at the frontier, he added.
