Bangladesh Betar officials and employees formed a human chain on Monday, demanding an end to discrimination.
The demonstration took place in front of the Bangladesh Betar main gate in Agargaon. Participants included Betar officers, employees, artists, and crew members.
They displayed banners and placards outlining their key demands: 1. End promotion deprivation for Betar officials; 2. Ensure merit-based promotions to Deputy Secretary and batch-wise advancements; 3. Implement a unified BCS (Information) cadre; 4. Appoint a Director General from Bangladesh Betar officials; 5. Repeal and revise proposed recruitment rules for non-cadre officers and staff; and 6. Establish permanent posts and promotion measures for Betar's artists.
The participants expressed hope that the interim government will soon address these concerns and fulfil their demands.
