The convening committee of Belkuchi upazila Juba League in Sirajganj has been dissolved for violating the instructions of district Juba League, says a press release signed by central general secretary of Jubo League Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil on Friday.
Earlier, a mass gathering organised by the upazila unit of Jubo League took place on Thursday. The shockingly large gathering took place at a time when the government had banned all kind of public gatherings across the country in a bid to rein in the spread of Covid-19.
It was said in the press release that the Juba League is a well-organised organisation. There is no place for disorder in this organisation.
On June 17, the convener of Belkuchi Upazila Juba League got involved in a dispute with the president of Sirajganj district Awami League due to disagreement.
When the news about this incident was published in various newspapers and online media, the matter came to the notice of the central Juba League.
The convening committee of Belkuchi Upazila Juba League has been dissolved from June 26 on the directive of Juba League chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parsh for violating discipline.
Ekramul Haque said the convening committee of Belkuchi Upazila Juba League was recommended to the central committee for dissolution due to various allegations including breach of party discipline, disobedience of district Juba League directives and holding of Juba League rallies in Corona situation.
As part of this, the convening committee was dissolved on Friday evening as per the decision of the Central Juba League.
Meawhile, Belkuchi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwarul Islam was withdrawn from his duties on Thursday for failing to prevent this mass gatherin
