BEA to move forward to uphold Liberation War spirit

Newly elected office-bearers take charge

Eminent economist and newly elected President of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA), Dr Kazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad said Bangladesh Economic Association will move forward upholding the spirit of the war of liberation also the heritage of the BEA.       

Dr. Ahmad made the remarks while passing his reaction on taking over the office of BEA as new President.

The newly elected office bearers of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) took over the office in a ceremony on Friday at the BEA office, Eskaton in the capital.  

The new executive committee will discharge its responsibility for a two-year term (2024-2026).

The outgoing President, Prof. Dr. Abul Barakat officially handed over the charges to the new committee headed by Dr. Kholiquzzaman Ahman and Prof. Dr. Ainul Islam.

Earlier on May 18, the members of the BEA elected the new executive committee through casting their votes directly.

Renowned economist Dr. Kholiquzzaman Ahman was also the President of the BEA for three times in the past. 

Other senior elected members of the council of BEA include Vice Presidents Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed FCA, AZM Saleh, Dr. Md. Liaquat Hossain Morol, Syeda Nazma Parvin Papri and Mostafizur Rahman, Treasurer Badrul Munir, Joint Secretary Sheikh Ali Ahmed Tutul and Md Akbar Kabir, Assistant Secretaries Nesar Ahmed, Mansur M Y Chowdhury, Md. Zahangir Alam, Partho Sarothi Ghosh and Syed Esrarul Huq Sopen.
