Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), students’ wing of the ruling Awami League, on Thursday staged demonstrations across the country demanding punishment to BNP leader Moazzem Hossain Alal for his comments insulting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League.
As part of the country-wide programmes, the BCL leaders and activists also burnt the effigy of Alal at TSC on the Dhaka University campus.
At the programmes, they also demanded exemplary punishment to BNP leader Alal. Mentionable that BNP leader Moazzem Hossain Alal in one of his facebook status allegedly made comments on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Following the incidents, several cases were filed with different police stations across the country against BNP leader Alal, who is now staying abroad for treatment purpose.
BCL president Al Nahian Khan Joy and general secretary Lekhak Bhattachariya, among others, spoke at the programme attended by the leaders and activists of different educational institutions in capital Dhaka.

Like in capital Dhaka, BCL leaders and activists also staged demonstrations and held protest rallies in different parts of the country, including Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chattogram, Khulna, Kushtia, Cumilla, Rangpur and Barisal.
