Farmers are unable to find workers to harvest paddy as movement of vehicles across the country is closed due to the corona virus. Meanwhile, it is time to harvest Iri and Boro paddy.
In Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj, Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders and activists have come forward to help the farmers in this crisis. They are cutting the paddy of poor farmers and delivering it to their homes.
On Tuesday afternoon, under the leadership of Sadiqul Islam Sajib GS of Government Murapara College Students' Parliament, they harvested paddy.
They cut paddies from poor farmer Zakir Hossain’s three bighas of land in Mirkutircheo area of Murapara union under the upazila and delivered it to his house.
Murapara Union Chhatra League leaders Nihal Ahmed Arif, Maruf Hasan, Mafizul Islam, Parvez, Russell Khan, Jaber Khan and others participated in the paddy harvesting at the time.
