On Tuesday (May 12) under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Central BCL, BCL leaders and workers cut paddy from the 12196 square feet land of farmer Nasir Uddin of Gareya Union in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila and delivered it to his house. Farmer Nasir Uddin is a resident of Araji Laskra village in Gareya union of Sadar upazila.
It was learned that district and upazila BCL leaders led by district BCL general secretary Sanwar Parvez Pulak took part in harvesting paddy from farmer Nasir Uddin's field on Tuesday morning.
At that time, the leaders and activists took the paddy to the farmer's house.
Sadar Upazila BCL general secretary Nazmul Hasan Himel, municipal BCL general secretary Mehedi Hasan Sabuj, 13th Gareya Union BCL president Tofale Alam Ricky, general secretary Saju Islam and other district, upazila and municipal BCL leaders and workers took part in the cutting.
People from all walks of life have applauded the activities of Chhatra League during the epidemic of coronavirus.
Nasir Uddin, told many workers to cut the paddy for several days due to the coronavirus. “No one wants to come for fear of that. I was very worried. Later, when I contacted the BCL leaders and activists, they came and cut the paddy from my field and delivered it to my house.”
He further said, "I thank the leaders and workers of Chhatra League who have come to my side in this situation. I also thank our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who has taken such a great initiative.”
Sanwar Parvez Pulak, general secretary of the district BCL, said, "Under the direction of the prime minister and the central BCL, we have taken up the task of cutting the paddy of the farmers. At present, due to the coronavirus in the country, farmers are not able to harvest paddy from their land due to lack of labor because the workers are scared. Today we cut the paddy of this poor farmer and delivered it to his house.”
