Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) took out a joyous procession to mark the official launch of the country's first metro rail service.
On this joyous occasion, Bangladesh Chhatra League brought out the procession from Madhu’s Canteen of Dhaka University at 11 am on Thursday.
While talking to Bangladesh Post the BCL leaders said, the desired metro rail will bring order to the city's public transport service, people's precious time will be saved, environmental pollution will be reduced due to reduction in the use of fuel, oil and gas and students will be able to go their destinations very easily. So, they will be benefited much.
Bangladesh Chhatra League president Saddam Hossain and general secretary Wali Asif Inan said introduction of digital system for payment of metro rail fares will accelerate the initiative of building Smart Bangladesh.
The BCL leaders also said that the country's financial activities, employment opportunities will increase, students and youths would be involved in economic activities at a higher rate.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the much-awaited metro rail at Diabari at 11 am on Wednesday.
