Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard on Tuesday night seized 2,160 kilograms of jelly-filled shrimps and 10 kilograms of jelly-powder from Rupsha River area. 11 people were nabbed from the scene with two trucks and a pickup truck.
Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard Head Quarter Lieutenant Khandakar Munif Toki on Wednesday morning stated that during a press briefing.

Lt KhandakarMunif Said that acting on a tip-off, Bangladesh Coast Guard Rupsha Station conducted a raid at Rupsha area of Khulna on Tuesday night. During the raid, they seized a total of 2,160kilogramo of jelly-filled shrimp from two trucks. At that time, 10 kg of jelly powder was also seized. This toxic jelly was being carried to be filled in shrimp bodies, the arrestees said.
After that, Rupsha upazila administration sentenced 11 people by a mobile court.
Lt Khandakar Munif said the jelly-filled shrimps were thrown at Rupsha River. Such drives of Bangladesh Coast Guard will be continued to curb down the crime rate at coastal areas of the country, he added.
