Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) under BCG Base Pagla Station seized from a bulkhead of a boat full of smuggled saris in a raid based on secret information at Hasnabad area under Keraniganj Police Station adjacent to Postogola Bridge on Sunday night, says a press release issued by BCG.
The bulkhead was kept hidden with 175 belt of illegally smuggled clothes including saris, lehenga, three-piece, Shawl, Sherwani and Panjabi.
Net worth of the seized goods is Tk4 crore. However, Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue working to ensure law and security and to prevent criminal activities in its jurisdictional areas. The seized clothes and the bulkhead was handed over to Bangladesh Customs Authority.
