Salahuddin played the role of assistant coach and fielding coach during his time with the Bangladesh team in 2005 to 2010 but Mahmud didn't disclose which role the BCB is considering him for. Sujon feels the batsmen were not confident enough and said they even failed to pretend to be confident against the other teams.

"Mentality is really important, but if you perform otherwise you'll be good otherwise you must learn. We always emphasize in cricket that pretending is very important. Sometimes you have to pretend to be confident and that's how you want to bat," he said.

"A single player cannot score every day, but confidence and mental strength are important. If I attempt to change my batting style in every match, it becomes tough. Why do I have to bat differently under duress? aYou have your own style and method of scoring runs," he added. When he was asked about appointing a psychologist for the team, the former captain further said “It’s not easy to appoint a psychologist within a short time."
