Bangladesh cricket team returned home a few days ago after their successful tour of Pakistan. Despite their triumph, the players have had little time to rest and have already begun training for the upcoming series against India. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has yet to announce the squad for this series.

A BCB selector informed agencies that the squad for the Test series against India is nearly finalised. Given the team's outstanding performance in the recent series, there will likely be minimal changes to the squad. If all goes well, the official announcement is expected on Wednesday.

In the Pakistan series, Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam opened the innings for the team. Shadman scored 93 runs in the first innings of the first Test and tried to adapt his batting in the subsequent Test, earning a passing mark overall.

Zakir Hasan, Shadman's partner, struggled in the first Test but contributed with aggressive batting in the second innings of the second Test, aiding the team's victory. Mahmudul Hasan Joy will be available as a backup, having recovered from injury.

The middle order will feature Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan. Although there were doubts about Shakib's participation, he has confirmed his availability to the BCB for this series. Liton Das will serve as the wicketkeeper, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will join Shakib as an all-rounder.

Alongside Shakib and Miraz, the squad is expected to include two specialist spinners, with Taijul Islam being an automatic choice. Nayeem Hasan might accompany him.

Bangladesh's pace attack will be at full strength, featuring experienced players like Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, along with Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Syed Khaled Ahmed.
