BCB plans action on misconduct of cricketers

Published : 09 Nov 2024 10:11 PM

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is thinking not only about the umpiring but also about the behavior of the cricketers in the domestic league. Iftekhar Rahman, chairman of this committee, does not say the decisions of the umpires are cent per cent accurate.

However, against the decision, it is claimed that the aggressive attitude and the pattern of expressing anger is having a negative effect.

More or less than the other times, the National Cricket League (NCL), the prestigious domestic league, has also been heated over the issue of umpiring. It is not unusual for Imrul Kayes to question such runs. The experienced cricketer lost his temper with the umpire's decision. Nurul Hasan has expressed his anger in bad language in another incident.

Missed the century due to run out! Parvez Eamon's expression of frustration was also visible. This behavior of the cricketers with the umpiring is what the board officials think.

BCB umpires committee chairman Iftekhar Rahman said,

I can guarantee that no umpire

is intentionally giving an out, making a mistake. We have systems to show dissatisfaction but players should be more tolerant. Especially Bangladesh team players.

Domestic league policy limits demerit points to 1 year for misconduct. But the demerit points of one league are not added to other leagues. In other words, demerit points are added differently in DPL, NCL, BCL and even the franchise tournament BPL. BCB is planning something different to control the situation.

Iftekhar Rahman also said that the tournament committee and board are very serious. We have to stop them anyway. I am

not speaking for the umpires.

But the talk is that it is pressure tactics.

Talking about the improvement of umpires, the chairman of the committee admits that it is far from the target. He claims that the unsportsmanlike behavior on the field has negative consequences.

BCB umpires committee chairman also said that the formation will be out. They are also monitoring. If they do, we will lose more than gain.

According to Iftekhar Rahman, if third umpire and DRS are not added in domestic leagues like international cricket, the controversy will not stop soon.
