Customer Awareness Week-2024 of Bangladesh Bank has started in the Chattagram Division aiming to enhance banking awareness among customers.
Md. Nurul Amin, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony of Awareness Week, held at Sayeman Beach Resort, Cox’s Bazar on September 21.
The program was organized by the Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of Bangladesh Bank in association with Mercantile Bank PLC. The five-day long event is scheduled from 22-26 September, 2024.
Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director, Mercantile Bank PLC; Mohammad Ashiqur Rahman, Director, Bangladesh Bank (Chattagram Office) & Mohammad Mohsin Hosaini, Director (FICSD), Bangladesh Bank (Head Office) and Mati Ul Hasan, Additional Managing Director, Mercantile Bank PLC were the special guests. Abu Hena Humayun Kabir, Director of Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department (FICSD) of Bangladesh Bank Presided over the event.
Mohammad Mahenur Alam, Additional Director and head of Strategic Communication Team of Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department of Bangladesh Bank gave his welcome speech.
More than 170 officials and customers from Chattagram region branches of different banks and financial institutions were present in the event.
During the discussion, the chief guest mentioned customers as the blood of banking services, saying that customer awareness is highly important in banking services.
He also emphasized on bankers' responsibility for developing customers' awareness along with their own awareness of everyday banking duties.
