Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) achieved the first place in ‘Life Science’ at Bangladesh according to the Times Higher Education ranking. Dhaka University (DU) got the second place in ranking.
According to the ranking report, BAU and DU are ranked in the world rankings between 601 to 800 and 801 to 1000 respectively. No other university in Bangladesh has found a place in this ranking of Times Higher Education.
Additional Director of BAU Institutional Quality Assurance Cell DrMd Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed the information.
The Times Higher Education published a list of the best universities in the world on their website for 2016-20, depending on the universities' research work, teaching activities, research sites and international perspectives. This year, it has published a ranking of 10,000 universities out of 10,000 on four subjects: Physical Science, Life Science, Clinical and Health and Psychology. Harvard University in the United States is at the top of the list.
BAU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Lutful Hasan said that the university officials along with students are excited to hear this news.
