BASIS holds seminar on data privacy and challenges

Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Legalized Education Bangladesh jointly organized a seminar on “Ensuring Data Privacy and its Challenges Amongst ICT Industry” as part of Data Privacy Week 2024.

In the seminar, as panelists, Abu Sayed Md. Kamruzzaman, NDC, Director General of National Cyber Security Agency, Lutfor Rahman, Chairman of BASIS Standing Committee on Digital Security andSaimum Reza Talukdar, Senior Lecturer of Department of Law of BRAC University were present. Josh Lee Kok Thong, Managing Director (APEC) Future of Privacy Forum also spoke as a panelist on virtually. 

Barrister Tasnuva Shelley, a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and Managing Director of Legalized Education Bangladesh, moderated the program. Hashim Ahmed,Secretary of BASIS, gave the welcome speech at the seminar.

Speaking at the seminar, Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman, Director General of National Cyber Security Agency, said, “The protection of personal information is now a global concern. For the first time we are very happy to observe Data Protection Week. Along with the advancement of technology, digital literacy of people is also very much needed.”
