A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the 9th death anniversary of late Advocate Sultan Ul Kabir Chowdhury, a freedom fighter and former parliamentarian in Chattogram's Banshkhali.
Banshkhali Upazila Awami Swechasebak League President Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury Tanju presided over the discussion meeting held at the Green Park Convention Hall room in the municipal headquarters on Saturday afternoon. Chattogram South District Awami Swechasebak League President and Satkania Pourashova Mayor Mohammad Jobair was present as the chief guest. Chattogram South District Awami Sechchasebak League General Secretary and Banshkhali Upazila Parishad Chairman Chowdhury Mohammad Ghalib Sadli was the special guest.
The meeting was presided over by Manjurul Alam and Farooq Hossain, joint convenors of Banshkhali Upazila Swachhasevak League. Chattogram District Freedom Fighters Commander Abdur Razzak, Chattogram South District Swechasebak League Vice-President Chairman Hasem, Banshkhali Pourashava Former Mayor Freedom Fighter Selimul Haque Chowdhury, Freedom Fighter Ahmad Chafa, Former Councilor Tapan Barua, Municipal Awami League Leader Zafar Ahmad, Salim Hossain, Leaders of different unions Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League including Nurul Abshar Talukdar.
Speaking as the chief guest, Chattogram South District Awami Swechasebak League President and Satkania Pourashova Mayor Mohammad Jobair said, 'Sultanul Kabir Chowdhury was an honest and courageous leader as well as a dedicated soul for the party. Sultan ul Kabir Chowdhury, the symbol of party unity, was a successful man in all fields. Ignoring all temptations, he remained faithful to Awami League. A leader like him taught us sacrifice. Sultan ul Kabir Chowdhury will live forever in the hearts of common people.
