A banker died from electrocution at Kaharta village under Sakhipur Upazila of Tangail on Thursday.
The deceased was identified Rayhan Shipon, 38, Assistant Manager of Sakhipur sub-branch of AB Bank, son of Mohammad Nuru Mia, resident of Nolua Paharkanchan area of the Upazila.
Quoting locals, Sakhipur Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Saidul said Rayhan went to his sister’s house in Kaharta on Wednesday on a holiday. On Thursday morning, he went to switch on the water pump and was critically injured due to an electric short circuit. He was rushed to the Health Complex by his family members where the on duty doctor declared him dead.
