A Bank officer was tortured in a private narcotics treatment center at Jalkuri area under Shiddhirganj police station in Narayanganj on Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Shahadat Hossain, manager of Agrani Bank’s Tanbazar Branch in Narayanganj. On complaint, Fatulla police station men recovered the Bank officer and arrested the director of Dipti narcotic treatment center Md. Saiful Azam Khokon.
A team of Dipti narcotic treatment center forcibly picked the victim into a microbus from in front his resident at Salimullah road in the city and admitted him as an narcotic addict patient. They bald-headed Shahadat and tortured him seriously considering him a drug addict patient.
When Shahadat challenged them, that he is not a drug addict they tested Shahadat's urine and found that he was telling the truth and he is not in fact a drug addict, informed Officer-in-Charge of Fatulla model police station Md. Aslam Hossain.
Shahadat’s brother filed a case with Fatulla police station in this connection.
Though some member of Shahadat's family raised alleged that Shahadat’s wife Rowshon Ara is the one behind this untoward incident, Shahdat rejected the allegation, the OC added.
