Police have recovered the body of a bank’s security guard at Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Rajesh Biswas, 23, a security guard of Ashuganj branch of Bangladesh Development Bank and son of Hirud Biswas of Chandpur village at Zakiganj upazila in Sylhet.
According to police and bank sources, Rajesh’s body was recovered from the second floor of Nazrul Doctor’s building near Golchattar in the upazila around 9:00 pm on Saturday. Rajesh was in charge of security inside the bank at night.
On Saturday night, a bank official came and knocked on the door to get inside but could not get any response. After informing the police, the police came and broke down the door and found Rajesh’s bloodied body with his arms and legs bound. During this time, various drawers of the bank were broken and window grills were cut. However, even though the bank vault was attempted to be broken in, it is safe.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Detective police have detained two more security guards of the bank for questioning in the incident.
