Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam on Wednesday urged the Banglalink officials to launch unlimited internet packages considering needs of the people.
The adviser said this while a Banglalink delegation met him at his office in the Posts and Telecommunications Division, said a press release.
Nahid Islam, who is also the adviser of the ministry of information and broadcasting, said that all the mobile phone operators should introduce unlimited internet packages alongside reducing price of internet in the wake of the demand of the young generation.
In the meeting, chief executive officer of Veon Limited, Kaan Terzioglu, talked about the reduction of tax on SIM cards in Bangladesh.
The adviser said that the Ministry of Finance is involved in the tax issue and that is why discussion is needed with them.
Kaan Terzio?lu expressed his interest in investing more in Bangladesh.
Banglalink Chief Legal Officer Jaharat Adeeb Chowdhury in the meeting also raised the issues of various restrictions on the use of their popular application "Toffee".
The advisor told them that they would look into the issues.
Banglalink Chief Executive Officer Erik Aas, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Taimur Rahman and senior officials were present during the meeting.
